Why Gardens, Not Roofs?
We're an online shop for plug-in solar kits that live in the garden. Here's what we're about.
The idea in a nutshell
Birmingham is full of family homes with a decent back garden: 1930s semis with long lawns, newer homes with a patio by the doors, bigger plots out towards Sutton Coldfield and Solihull. A lot of that garden gets more sun than you'd think.
A plug-in kit puts it to work. Panels on a low frame, a lead to an outdoor socket, and the house uses the power first. No roof, no scaffolding, no installer.
How do we pick our kits?
Every kit we list:
- is listed as compliant on the ENA Type Test Register
- sends no more than 799VA into your home
- comes with a factory-fitted, fused UK plug
- sits on the ground in a garden, on a lawn, patio or gravel
We don't sell balcony kits, long cables, extension leads or batteries for plug-in use. We stick to what the maker's datasheets and manual say, and when we don't know something, we ask the maker before we tell you.
Who will you talk to?
Us, by email. Use the contact form and a real person reads it and replies. There's no call centre and no showroom: kits come straight to your door by courier.
