Which Cookies Do We Use?
Last updated: 4 November 2026
A few small things live in your browser so the shop works. Analytics stay off unless you say yes.
Every cookie on this garden shop
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. "Browser storage" works much the same way, so on this page "cookies" covers both.
The ones the shop needs
These are always on, because the basket and checkout can't work without them. They don't track you across other sites.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your basket | Remembers the kit you've chosen as you move between pages | Until you empty it or clear your browser |
| Your delivery postcode | Checks we deliver to you and saves you typing it again | Until you clear your browser |
| Your order summary | Shows your order on the thank-you page | Until you close the tab |
| Your cookie choice | Remembers whether you allowed analytics | 6 months (also kept in your browser's storage until you clear it) |
| Cloudflare security (`__cf_bm`) | Helps block bots and attacks on the site | 30 minutes (only set if Cloudflare's bot protection checks your visit) |
When you pay, you move to Square's secure payment page. Square sets its own cookies there, under Square's cookie policy.
Analytics, only if you say yes
These help us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. They only load after you click "Allow" on the cookie banner.
| Service | Cookies | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | `_ga`, `_ga_WKTWPXM5FR` | Counts visits and shows which pages people use | Up to 2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity | `_clck`, `_clsk`, `CLID`, `MUID`, `ANONCHK`, `MR`, `SM` | Shows how pages are used through heatmaps and session replays (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) | From the end of your visit up to 1 year |
We've set Clarity to hide anything you type into forms.
Google and Microsoft may process this data outside the UK. See our privacy notice.
We don't use advertising or social media tracking cookies.
Want fewer cookies? Here's how
Click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page and choose "No thanks". Analytics stop straight away.
You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings. That empties your basket and forgets your cookie choice, so you'll see the banner again.
